2nd Bienniel Integral Theory Conference: Enacting an Integral Future
Where:
In August 2008 John F. Kennedy University and Integral Institute hosted the first biennial Integral Theory Conference. This turned out to be an historic event. It sold out at 500 attendees over two months in advance, with over 300 people on a waitlist (and hundreds more who didn't even bother to put themselves on the waitlist). Over 30 countries were represented and we had 100 presentations from the leading scholar-practitioners within the emerging field of Integral Theory.
At the end of July 2010, John F. Kennedy University and Integral Institute will host the second biennial ITC. We expect ITC 2010 to sell out again this year. Not just because the first one did but because we incorporated a lot of the great feedback we got from attendees at ITC 2008. Feel free to use the "Contact Us" button to the left to provide us additional feedback as well. We are also excited to share with you this new website (a major improvement over our last one!).
The theme for this year's conference is: Enacting an Integral Future. Enaction refers to the individual and social practices we take up to interact with reality and which in fact bring reality into being through a participatory process of observer, mode of observation, and observed. The principle of enactment is foundational to the post-metaphysical commitments of Integral Theory. The theme will inform a number of elements of ITC 2010.
Robert Kegan will deliver the keynote presentation for this year's conference, his first address focusing entirely on 5th-order consciousness.
Terry Patten will present a paper on "The Emergence of Integral Evolutionary Spiritual Culture on Saturday, July 31st from 2-3 PM. He will co-present a paper, with Barbara Marx Hubbard, on Sunday, August 1st from 9-10:30 AM. And he will participate in a panel on Integral Politics in the Age of Obama on Friday from 3:30-5 PM and on What is the Role of the Integral Spiritual Teacher on Sunday from 10:30 AM to 12 PM.
