Where:

Terry Patten and Craig Hamilton will lead an ongoing practice group committed to enacting our evolutionary potential. Introductory meetings will take place:

• January 27 2010, 7-9:30 PM
• February 20, 2010, 12:30 - 5:30 PM

Ongoing meetings will take place on Wednesday nights either in Berkeley or San Rafael. They will begin March 24th and will be held 2x/month.

When: 7:00 to 9:30 PM, Wednesdays, twice a month, from March through December 2010.

You long to live a sustainable, spiritual life — one that transforms not only you but also others — and can ultimately make a difference in our larger world.

You can see that we live in a critical time in human history and evolution. Our lives and choices count — right now. And you feel called to participate in creating a better future.

Yet you feel frustrated. You feel profound evolutionary tension. Even though you want to make a difference, you are merely one of more than six billion people on the planet, and huge forces in our world appear to be spiraling out of control.

You sense that a truer, bigger, more meaningful life is possible, necessary, and calling you forward. Yet, you know that in order to really respond in a way that will contribute, you're going to need to be part of something bigger than yourself. You know you will need a culture to help you grow and evolve in ways that have not previously been possible for human beings.

You've realized that talk is cheap. Evolution doesn't just need affirmation. It needs awakened, conscious, wise participants and leaders who have evolved to the point that they can serve the emergence of a new kind of human life, human culture, and human politics.

You know that practice is not optional. Sustainable transformation requires ongoing committed integral practice involving your body, mind, spirit, and shadow — and your service to others.

You need community. You know that personal growth is quickened most by conscious community, and you find fragments of it where you can. And you long for more.

You feel called to be one of the evolutionaries who helps bring in a sustainable human future — a human life that cares for the whole planet — a world that truly works for everyone, human and non-human. And you're excited about the new spiritual foundations of the cultural renaissance that's necessary to create that future.

You have three key questions:

1. How can you connect — and stay connected — with the clarifying, inspirational energy of  God, Spirit, Consciousness and Evolution, in the midst of the sometimes discouraging events of life?
2. How can you get the specific support, guidance, and training you need for real evolutionary transformation?
3. And, where can you find a supportive community of kindred spirits who are committed to living life on the same level as you are?

Craig Hamilton and Terry Patten have devoted themselves to full participation in intense communities of committed spiritual practice for almost 30 years. They have joined hands to co-facilitate an experiment in creating a community of practice for people who are willing to dedicate regular time to learning to live an integral evolutionary lifestyle, and who are interested in really supporting each other in practice and awakening and in embodying self-transcending responsibility to Life, in all of life, but directly through their relationships with each other.

Why is this an experiment?

It's about living at the leading edge of consciousness and culture, in a way that's never been tried before.

It's more than simply taking on an Integral Life Practice. It's not organized around a guru or spiritual authority. It's intended to help "carve new grooves in the Kosmos" for a cultural emergent that's not merely about spiritual practice, not merely about Integral theory, not merely about social entrepreneurship, not merely about evolutionary activism, not merely about personal transformation — it's something that intrinsically includes all these good things — and that in bringing them all together becomes something even more.

What is Integral community?

Integral community is a place where we can come together intelligently in a way that rises above conformity, competition, idealism and political correctness. And yet it expresses itself as sincere, vulnerable, intimately authentic relationships. It is also a place for loving celebration of life and human community.

It's an experiment in bringing sober purpose and playful creative synergy to the serious matter of living deeply in an age of intense superficiality.
